Team member assessment to include checking temperatures for certain individuals
Starting today, all those who test “yellow” during their daily team member assessment will have their temperatures checked. This refinement to Beaumont’s process to keep our patients and colleagues safe will make the assessment more objective.
Assessors will use forehead “no touch” thermometers and must wear ear loop masks when taking a team member’s temperature. Team members must also wear ear loop masks while getting their temperature taken. Individuals with a fever (e.g., temperature above 100 degrees Fahrenheit) will not be permitted to report to work.
Team members who test red, reflecting COVID-19 symptoms, may NOT enter the building to work. If the team member answered questions incorrectly or, after speaking with an assessor realized a question should have been answered differently (e.g. not actually a NEW cough), they must redo their screening submission to reassess health clearance.
